Artist History
The idea of Nine Cent Dime began in the summer of 2001, when Matt Moroney and Jeremy Mohler, armed with their newfound interest in guitar, decided to start a band. When practicing together over the summer, they realized that they both could sing quite well. With two parts of the band assembled, they set out to find the other components that would soon be Nine Cent Dime. In late summer, the boys were enrolled in driving school for two straight weeks but missed one day for a local concert. When they went back the next week to make up the class, they ironically were seated beside a bass guitar player named Josh Hogge. After recruiting Josh, all that was needed was a drummer. That’s where Ben Hoffmaster comes in the story. Once all four parts of the band were found, all that was required was the unity that all bands must have. This came easy for the boys because they easily meshed as friends and musicians. Now after about a year of practice and dedication the boys are ready for something bigger; something they have dreamed of their entire lives; something that’s just around the corner… |
