Artist History
Former front man for the now defunct Dublin band, D11 Runners, Joseph has been in the music business for up to 20 years. The band were on the brink of a major record deal and European tour in the early 90's when they were ecclipsed by the very successful Commitments. The band split up when the record deal fell apart. During this time Joseph's life was dramatically effected by a tragic event when he witnessed the death of his best friend on the banks of a canal in Dublin. The effect of this tragedy and a book called the Cross and the Switchblade gave him the inspiration to go back to song writing.
After a decade of writing and recording Joseph's self financed debut solo album, The Great Commission, is finished and is available in selected outlets. It will go on general release in Ireland and beyond in 2003. The album tells a story of one man's struggle with events in his life and how he finds a better way to live. The story is based on the characters in the book but it is also part biographical for Joseph and the people that he has met over the years and how they have survived life with all of its twists and turns.
Joseph has just finished an extensive run of 300 performance dates accross Ireland, the UK and USA. After a run like that he is entitled to a little break and will not be appearing live until early 2003. Watch this space so you don't miss out on his show at a venue near you.
