Artist description Born in Queens and raised in Costa Rica, Carolyn brings many colors to her music. At the age of six, her parents bought her first guitar as a Christmas gift. By her early teens, she recorded her first album with her classical guitar teacher. A few years later, she moved back to the United States. She continued her music career and completed her Masters in International Business. At a young age, Carolyn is now completing her Doctorate in Business Administration and continues to write, produce and record her music in English and Spanish. Carolyn's compositions span a range of musical genres and styles so very diverse that one is left to wonder if the songs originated from the same person. Carolyn adds, "I grew up surrounded by Spanish and English music; Armando Manzanero, Marco Antonio Muniz and Jose Feliciano. I memorized all of Carol King's songs. My latest influences are Peggy Lee, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass." Carolyn has been awarded "Best Original Song" on numerous occasions, during annual events at the University of Costa Rica and, again, with her contributions to "Project Life." The Project Life organization had chosen a selection of Carolyn's work to be included on their latest CD. More information on this project is available at GoldenDomeRecords.com.
