Artist History
Carlos Solorzano was born and raised in a suburbian area of Los Angeles known as the South Bay. There he developed his skills as a drummer by participating in music programs at school while studying privately for 13 years. Later he would go on to learn other instruments such as guitar, bass, piano, and voice while earning as Associate's Degree in Music from El Camino College in Torrance, CA. It was also at this time in his life when he began to play gigs professionally while logging in countless hours in the recording studio. He would go on to perform with various groups of various genres all over the country, most recently with the band SANAIYA which he co-founded and even wrote and arranged music with (www.geocities.com/grooveband). After ending his tenure with original bands he worked exclusively as a "hired gun" with several groups both onstage and in the studio. It was during this time that he recorded his "Standing Alone" CD. In the later part of 2002 Carlos and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child which, along with Graduate School has led Carlos to spend more time closer to home. Therefore he is now teaching privately, performing at a church every Sunday and working as a session player in the recording studio. Although his performing career has slowed down he still plans on recording another CD sometime in the future which will feature more tribal drumming compositions with perhaps a few accompanying instruments. Carlos also plans on writing music with other artists and releasing other CD's as a member of these future project. |
