Artist History
Olympos Mons was formed in a small finnish town in 2002
by guitarist Jari Sundström and singer Ian Eric Highhill.
After many years both playing in various bands (sometimes
even in the same band) with mostly cover songs
they got fed up and decided to fulfill their dream and
create a powerful melodic metal band.
The decision was made in february 2002 when the two of them
met after a gig Jari was playing.
Already after a "few drinks" they knew they shared the same passion
for symphonic/ progressive metal music and wanted to do something
of their own.
The result was Olympos Mons a project so good that it even surprised themselves.
Every song seemed to come out strong and vital with a honesty you can´t miss.
The music carries strong melodies with a strong vocal supported by
brilliant arrangements and guitar playing.
Filling their songs with romantic tales that takes you straight to the
land of metal magic and with heavy riffs that brings out the mystic atmosphere to it. Jari and Ian have created both musically and lyrically a very own more romantic side to metal music.
The demo CD: "Seven seas" prooves that these guys won´t let
nothing stand in their way.It has already gained a lot of interest and curiosity
among power metal fans and record companies all over......
And this is just the tip of the iceberg.........
