Artist History How lame is this whole "Rock is back! thing? Y'see, france realize that the rock never left. France is not the first, france is not even the greatest rock band ever (yet). But france is here to rock you now and that's what really matters. France is Christian Rutledge on vocals and guitar, Pete Bayard on bass, and Chris Philips on drums. None of these guys knew each other before france. Pete moved to New York and answered a "bassist wanted" ad while Christian's buddy knew Chris was looking for a new band. There you have it. No big conjured up story. Just france. So why should one get all riled up about three schmoes who get on stage at the same time? Because france rocks. France packs a power-pop punch with the feeling of Cheap Trick, the drive of the Foo Fighters, and the sort of Saturday night rock n' roll spirit that makes you want to buy or lease one of those shiny cars without a roof, crank the stereo and drive real fast without traffic problems. France gets the bodies movin'. France gets the kids to sing songs out loud that they're just hearing for the first time. France brings that kind of rock. France is expanding past New York. France wants the world to enjoy the rock. Or at least have the eastern seaboard enjoy the rock. They'll get to the rest of the world next. Rock is still with us. Rock is in france.
