    Artist description
Brand Name TVs Told Me To is post rock in the forming and expanding; sometimes pretentious, sometimes melancoly, sometimes uplifting, sometimes political oriented, always a chaotic wall of sound. We are not so much a thorn in the side of the local Western, Ma music scene as we are just a mere pin-prick in ones arm, but hey we're just beginning. Be on the look-out for future experiences with Brand Name Etc. including: writing actual structured pop tunes, shortening our name (hopefully to 2 words that do not go together but sound "cool" ie: "Slipknot" or "Spineshank" you get the picture), shaking hands with major label a&r guys with spikey hair, black rimmed glasses, and studded belts, as well as banging lots of gash.
    Music Style
    Experimental post something or other
    Musical Influences
Godspeed You Black Emperor, Sonic Youth, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cancer Conspiracy, Codeseven, The Flaming Lips, Shoegaze bands, hip hop, etc etc... oh yea, Michael Bolton

Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Mogwai, The Cancer Conspiracy, Sunny Day Real Estate, Pink Floyd, the good parts of U2 (you know, when Bono's not pooping on Marvin Gaye songs).
    Artist History
With the demise of Northampton Ma's, Act One, and Mother Mary Cyanide's long break from home-computer cut and pasting trend, the 5 of us found each other in each other's arms aching to create something intense and beautiful and... something that leaves an impression on people whether they know it or not. Forming in March of 2002 in Montegue, Ma, we began writing, improvising, and recording hours of sessions of music and fell in love with this certain intensity and dynamic between the five of us. With the pressure of upcoming gigs and no desire to construct full songs (let alone a setlist), we improvised our first two gigs... both which were 45 minutes of uncompromised ear torture and ear candy. Translation: We had no fucking clue what we were doing. The past few months, we have dove into our tapes pulling out things that work and don't work and slowly start establishing pieces of music, as well as establishing a brotherhood... or BRAHS. What lies ahead for Brand Name ETC.: Lots of scratching our heads wondering what to do next to keep things exciting... and lots of peach iced tea.
