Artist History Formed out of the depths of south Jersey in 1995, the Smith System rekindles the spirit of the first incarnation with 2 new members. This second lineup, completed, in the summer of 2001 includes erik urban (bass), mike marmero (vocals/drums), and founding member brian maull (guitar). Recently, Todd Shevlin stepped up to play lead guitar in June '02.We perform an eclectic mix of covers from artists such as Bauhaus, T-Rex, Bodycount, The Rolling Stones, and Joy Division as well as many originals. We can be seen here and there in the Philadelphia region. Recently, we played our biggest show in Asbury Park at the Stone Pony for "Holidays in The Sun." This festival is a very popular punk festival that has been running in Europe for some time and recently brought to the states for the first time.
