Artist description
Hollywood Hates You...and most of you don't even notice. Isn't it time to wake up and take a look around? Take a look at every cinema explosion and special effect, every cute kid peddling the latest corporate approved pop culture trash. Take a look at every group of 18 year old boys belting out whatever nightmarish excuse for a song their team of songwriters wrote for them while they dance around in outfits their team of stylists put together for them. Take a look at all of these things and realize that what they have in common is contempt for you, contempt for culture, and contempt for art. The only thing they hold in esteem is the contents of your wallet. Their only intention is to separate those contents from you. They will spend millions of dollars and expend all resources analyzing what you think is cool; why you look like you look; why you wear what you wear; and buy what you buy. When they think they've got it figured out they'll bundle it all up and sell it back to you all watered down at ten times the price. Put some anorexic baby faced model in a ripped up Clash t- shirt, let him jump around and make punk/metal/rap that's palatable to flight attendants, executive secretaries, and dental hygienists worldwide then watch the cash roll in-but only if YOU let them. Hollywood hates you, but The Kite-Eating Tree does not. Actually, we don't really care either way. If you like the music, that's great. If you don't, that's fine too. The contents of your wallet are your own. Just remember, it's a dangerous world out there: if you support gutless, watered-down tripe, don't be surprised when you find a second helping on the menu. |
