Artist History
I have been fortunate enough to have attended classes taught by Walter Ehret, Martin Josman, William Hellerman, and George Flynn,
and to have studied privately with Leonard Altman and Harold Triggs.
I rarely practised, but I loved music, and still do.
Music is a gift, and it can come so naturally sometimes.
I played the piano as a child, and music, sounds, books, and
pretty lights and forms were the world I inhabited, and grew up in.
I've been listening to Debussy playing his own works recently (James Stewart label, piano roll recordings), and it's stunning!
His virtuosity and deftness, and total unique-ness.
They were all staggeringly great pianists: Saint-Saens, Mahler, Busoni, Gershwin....
It wasn't necessarly their technique, but the direct freshness with which they got expressive sounds out
of the piano -- from their mind and heart, into the air.
The induction of forms of the mind into time and process, and
experience.
I like Pat Metheny, and Louis Armstrong, and Rosemary Clooney, and one hundred
and one million other wonderful musicians. I am always entranced.

Group Members
I don't have a band -- I play a synthesizer, and produce my own stuff.
Why, I'm lucky if I even get a rhythm track now and then!
Seriously though, I record and edit my own works with a
a Roland A-90EX & JV 2080, a Power Macintosh 6500/250,
FreeStyle, Metro 4, and a Philips CD recorder. |
