Artist description
The Silver Wizard's music cannot be easily boxed into one category or genre of electronic music. It takes its inspirations from multiple sources ranging from the core sounds of Drum & Bass, Techno and Breakbeat, and infuses them into not just tracks, but multi-layered compositions that introduce something totally different to the listener. This is a new sound that has appealed to a wide span audience, as well being perfectly designed for professional use. The Silver Wizard has provided ambient work for film soundtracks such as the original advertising campaign for "Crop Circles: The Quest for Truth," and high, speed Drum and Bass for Sony Playstation games.
The Silver Wizard is also immersed in the recent Nortec phenomenon that has been happening in Tijuana, Mexico and gaining popularity all over the world. He also collaborates with the highly acclaimed Broken Beat circle, both affiliations diverse, but complimentary to the Silver Wizard's style and approach to music.
So who is The Silver Wizard? Is it some guy who played Dungeons and Dragons once too often in highschool? Read Lord of the Rings too many times? The Silver Wizard is a guy named John Goff from Encinitas, California who has a life long obsession with analog synthesizers and creating electronic music. His history winds into other channels that one might not expect but won't be surprised at either. John was a professional bagpiper for 14 years, a member of Crash Worship, Johnny Superbad and the Bullet Catchers, the indie-ambient band Physics, as well as owning a prolific record label; The Way Out Sound. John Goff, with his brother Will Goff (aka The Sleepwalker), have also collaborated as the drum & bass duo, The Wizards of War.
John Goff, as The Silver Wizard, now focuses on his true calling: Electronic Music. It is time to experience his artistry. |
