    Artist description
I have always had very diversified musical tastes. As a kid living in Shreveport LA, I grew up listening to all of my dads records. Stuff like Frank Zappa, The Police, Steve Miller Band, Molly Hatchet, and Jefferson Starship were under the needle at any given moment in my home. The first 45 I ever had was actually Steve Miller Band. It had Fly Like An Eagle on one side and The Joker on the other. I think I played that record until my parents were so sick of it that just disappeared one day. Right around the time I was beginning to develop my own musical preference, I moved to northern Minnesota. I started skating in fourth grade and most of the kids that I hung out with older. They introduced me to the old-school punk genre and thats stuck with me. My mom flipped when her fourth grader showed up at home one day with a shaved head and 5 inch bangs. Around the time I was going into eighth grade I moved out to N. Hollywood CA. I met this really cool kid named Cory Redden who introduced me to electronica. There was a strong Latin house presence in N. Hollywood at the time and although I enjoyed it, it never really grabbed me. I was starting to get into the hip hop scene and eventually quit buying punk records all together. I wasnt there long before I moved again. It was off to Texas.. I hit Dallas and nothing really changed for me. I was here for a year and ended up moving once again. Then something strange happened… I woke up one day and I was living in a white bread town in Kansas. Surrounded by narrow minded people who would rather die than take Ozzy out of their rotation, it wasn’t long before I knew that it was highway time. Back to Dallas. This time was different for me. I had a much broader respect for anything that was different. I started going to underground parties and found a love for Jump-Up D&B. It was like punk with a format to me. I started buying records again and picked up a pair of 1200s. I also developed my taste for house at the same time. My best friend and roommate at the time Josh, was always moving from one genre to another so I ended up liking a little of everything. I met the Dallas goa psy trance mogul David Green and one again felt that vibe that punk gave me. Although playing records always interested me, I always ended up critiquing what I was hearing. After I briefly familiarized myself with some sound and loop editing software, I sat down with Josh and we cut our first track. It was titled My Dog and it floated musically somewhere in between tech house and trance. Thanks to Art (the owner of local Dallas record label Chinese Records www.chineserecord.com.), Josh and I were able to get the track included in the Shaolin-Tech compilation. Being that it was our first attempt at song writing, I look back now and see that there are several things about it that I would have done differently. You can check out the original track here on MP3.com. Do a search for Kynd V.S. Good or copy and paste this link: /artists/204/kynd_vs_good.html Since then, I havent decided exactly witch way I am going musically. I have written some house, trance, and drum and bass. I suppose that I will post up a bit of it all here under Slipstream Sound Wave until I have enough material of one specific genre to cut a full length CD. Until then I hope you enjoy the work in progress.
