Artist History
In February of 2001, Nick Sweetman (guitar) and Milenko Vujosevic (vocals) joined to form the beginnings of the band that would eventually be known as Sidford. Together, they began composing music that borrowed from several genres, combining rhythmic chords, and melodic alternative vocals (with the occasional scream) to produce a unique brand of rock. At the same time, they initiated an intense search for musicians to complete the ensemble. In September of 2001, Robin Tunley (bass) became the third member of the as of yet unnamed group. He brought with him metal influences and a keen ear for cadence. For five months, the threesome continued to create singular music without the help of drums. They performed sporadically, recruiting friends with drumming ability to fill in the missing rhythm at shows. Finally, in February of 2002, Sam Sutherland signed on as their permanent drummer, adding punk persuasions and superb rhythmic abilities to the now complete band. Sidford now features smooth, distinct vocals, complex guitar melodies, enunciated bass undertones and a strong percussion backbone. |
