    Artist History
Substream is a duo consisting of Tecki (Alan) and Paul Divine. Alan and Paul got to know each other through sound engineering at Arnold School in England in 1998 both at the age of 14. On a summer afternoon Paul asked Alan if he wanted to come down to Insomnia that evening, the best dance club in town, unsurprisingly Alan had planned to go that night anyway and so Paul and Alans clubbing mayhem began. After dj'ing with Paul Divine in his shed for a year another club lead the lime light in town for the dance population of the town, The Rhythm Dome. It was of such size that Blackpool didn't have any rival clubs to even make a scratch on it. The good location of The Rhythm Dome on the edge of town ensured that only dance punters would come creating a highly charged atmosphere. Paul and Alan managed to grace the decks in the summer of 2000 who had been performed on by other artists and djs including Fragma, Jon The Dentist, Ralph Fridge and Rob Tissera to name a few. Unfortunately on November the 18th The Rhythm Dome opened its doors for the last time unkown to clubbers. In September Alan had just moved to Blackpool 6th College for 2 years doing 4 a-levels. Early in 2001 Alan caught on to the idea of starting a radio station, studying everything needed for doing such a project, but got nowhere working on his own. So he decided to throw Paul into the operation. Paul had already started Dj'ing with NYTE events alongside such djs as Charlotte Birtch, DJ Griff, Jay walker, Daniele Davoli and John 00 Flemming. Alan and Paul worked on the project in Summer 2001 in conjunction with NYTE and Bliss FM was born. The first night of Bliss FM was probably the most rushed radio operation ever done. On Friday 15th of June Paul headed off into central England to go and pick up the new radio equipment arriving back in Lancashire at around 7pm. Bliss FM had aimed to launch at 8pm, and neither Alan or Paul had used the equipment before. Alan hadn't explained to any of the other Bliss FM members of the height required and when driving up to the location that had been arranged by Bliss he arrived to a 1 floor high farm in the middle of nowhere. When Bliss FM launched at around 8:30pm, Alan and Paul had just about sussed the transmitter electronics and Bliss FM was reaching an astonishing couple of miles! When Bliss moved to another location the following night in the summer, which was quickly arranged only a couple of hours before the broadcast, they had a much more successful broadcast with text messages and phone calls flowing in none stop. On December the 26th 2001 Paul secured the Liquid Lounge previously known as Insomnia. Paul produced a night of non-stop dance music with NYTE dj'ing himself from 1am-3am. On the eve of 2002 Alan had joined Paul with many others for the new year celebrations. After being at a very swish restaurant and many drinks, the group headed back to Pauls girlfriends house in Freckleton. Paul and Alan had already started purchasing music equipment to create tracks on and so took some equipment back to the house to play on next to the pool. During the party that went on til the very early hours of the morning Paul asked Alan to see if he could connect a speaker which was proving quite impossible, and seconds after fixing it Alan was awarded the name 'Tecki'. In January of 2002 Paul moved down to London to start a 4 year degree course in Sound Engineering. This was when the main roots of Substream began, as the equipment started to build up so did their ideas and creativity for tracks. Paul devoted a room in his luxurious flat in London as a studio, now known as 'The Lord Palmerson Studio'. Alan recently moved down to London as he is studying a degree in Special Effects. The tracks are now starting to pour out the studio, of which all have been played on mainstream radio and clubs. At the moment Substream are unsigned to any record labels, but are hoping to be picked up in the fall of 2002.
