Press Reviews
Rezolution is a unique and dynamic rock band that demands attention
in a crowded industry of talented artists. In October of this year the band will be embarking on the first of a hundred nation-wide dates to support the release of their debut, independent album scheduled to hit the market the first of the month. Based out of Salt Lake City, Rezolution will travel region to region eventually performing in venues from California to Florida by Summers' end next year. The album, currently in the final stages of production, features the bands unique style and sound. The "Rez" sound comes from eclectic roots and influences that range from The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, to more modern echoes of bands like The Stone Temple Pilots and Weezer. With that in mind, the collection promises to be something worth listening to.
"We're all very excited to be getting this first record done." Says Singer
Cole Summers, "It's a long and sometimes difficult process to complete
an album, but we're looking forward to see what kind of response it
will get".
The response should be good if it's anything like the reaction "Rez" gets from live audiences, and a track record of selling out live performances.
"Crowds like our songs, " remarks drummer Chris Swimley,
"I've played a lot of venues with different bands in the past and there
are lots of ways to get audience reactions, but it's all superficial
if people don't really dig your music".
Despite the limitless enthusiasm the band seems to have, they have also had their share of difficulties and set-backs. In mid 2002 "Rez" had some issues with band personnel but says, so far, the latter part of this year has seen no real repercussions.
"We've made some key changes that we think will really benefit our sound and our ability to tour" explains Swimley, "sometimes change is difficult but necessary."
Rezolution is optimistic for the future and should find life to be continually interesting over the next few months.
"Shopping record labels, playing venues and making new fans is going to take a
lot of effort, but, it's not like having a nine to fiver! " remarks bassist Josh Summers "It's fun to do what you love, and we're really trying to enjoy it."
Rezolution will be releasing tour dates and venue listings at the end of September. For more information be sure to check out the web-site at www.REZolutionrock.com for continual updates.
