Artist description
Thinking Out Loud came together late last year out of a shared passion for good music and a commitment to shake up the hk music scene. Shunning corny classics they offer an eclectic mix of innovative originals and original takes on interesting covers.
Ex-Sisters of Sharon Chris B. provides smouldering vocal delights and occasional twiddling while Chris W.'s gibson-whatever-it-is dances a frisky accompaniment. The whole groove is underpinned by rocksteady bassman Alex S. and funky drummer Hugh W. Mysterious Mr. B pops up to add sax elements to songs. |

Press Reviews
A musical venture that is a collusion of various
individual entities combining to produce an musical
genera unknown before. Integrating cultural as well as
spiritual combinations, TOLL can certainly be
transcribed as a pop band with a certain degree of
self expression and individualism. Pertaining to pop,
compositions lend themselves intrinsically to rock,
although the underlying charisma of music hints at a
certain amount of avant garde individualism, without
being esoteric....................................
Chris Bowers has a eloquence not seen since Carly
Simon. Classically trained, Bowers delivers with an
appealing passion, but unusually for a demonic death
garage band, with frivolity and humour. Mark Espina's
smooth, Rhodes sounding Gibson combined with Chris W.s
searing lead cumulate into a rousing crescendo on the
song "People".................................
The more poppy "Stranger" is a revelation, both from
artistic presentation to melodic appeal. Uplifting
harmonies with a classic in yer face guitar riff,
intertwine to leave the listener asking "Why didnt
the Beatles think of this?".......................
Musical inspirations for "Thinking Out Loud" range from seventies
Glam, Neumann and Kraftwerk to Britney and her
revenge. A band to be recommended, to any age group.......... Review by NME writer-Andrew Smith |
