Artist History Hailing from Chicago, Illinois Pousto has captivated audiences with their original ska-reggae-rock music and their high-energy performances. With interesting lyrics and catchy melodies blending ska, reggae, and rock, Pousto has fun, danceable, 'party' music. In a live performance, Pousto will do all to get the audience involved, encouraging dancing and participation. Pousto strives to make each performance a memorable one for all at the show. POUSTO is: Brent Segally, Jason Mireles, Matt Michelin, and Michael Curiel Pousto was formed in November of 2000. The music however had started years before... In the winter of 1996 after moving back to the Chicago area from Las Vegas, Brent Segally (Vocals, Guitar) and Jason Mireles (Bass) began writing together. This would later become a foundation of songs for Pousto to build on. Matt Michelin (Guitar), an old friend from school, would join in periodically and eventually helped form Pousto. As time passed and addresses changed, the list of songs grew. September of 2001 brought Michael Curiel to the band on drums. Michael brought to Pousto what it needed to explode. November of 2001 Pousto recorded their three-song EP featuring the Deputy Song, Be Bop and Rock, and Naturally. The EP has been met with excellent response including airplay from numerous college radio stations throughout the country and from 94.7 The Zone in Chicago. Pousto has played from The Elbo Room and the Beat Kitchen in Chicago, Illinois to Rhino's in Bloomington, Indiana. Pousto is currently playing out live energetic shows determined to continue their 'grass-roots' self-promotion while still creating new music.
