    Artist History
Nicatas Drumer was formed in 1997, but then under the name of "Herrenvolk", it later changed to Stygian, where at this point the first self-titled demo was recorded. Finally the name of the band changed to "Nicatas Drumer", a name we are finally happy with. Weve been around since about '94, but the idea formed in the very early 90's, around '91-'92. Weve played in many bands, all our own formed bands, and under many different names. These including "Deatholence", "Darkark", and "Netherworld". "Deatholence was a form of Death Metal, very technical. "Darkark" was a more of a Black/Death/Doom kinda band and "Netherworld" pure Black/Death metal, very fast and technical. Our bass player for "Netherworld" lasted one day. All the other different members of the previous bands were losers and stabbed us in the back! The drummer of "Netherworld" chose to move onto his own dreamworld. At that time Longinus were handling all the vocals, and Morg all the Guitar work. After all the crap, we finally came to a decision, that there should be only two members for the time being. By making this decision Longinus assumed duties with his Black Axe and Morg was summoned by the Demon of Drums. This is basically where "Herrenvolk" started, around '97. It was really necro!!, in the vein of Darkthrone, Mayhem and Burzum orientated Black Metal, although still invoking a completely different style of our own. However, we progressed as we grew used to our instruments. This is where the our name changed to "Stygian", and we already had a large amount of songs under our black robes. So we decided that it was time to record, and chose our best songs at that time. Hauling all our equipment for about 350 miles along the coast, we finally got to our destination! Damn, it took us 13-14 hours to record one song! Due to our limited funds we only recorded two songs as time costs money, and time was wearing thin! At this point we realize just how hard it is to maintain a band as well as having full time jobs! Soon after the first Demo we decided that the name "Stygian" did not suit the sound and what the band was about, so we changed it to our current name, "Nicatas Drumer". We also felt that the demo was not enough for the labels, and we ourselves were very disapointed with it, plus two songs were just not enough to get a full understanding of where we were coming from. Once again, we travelled through the dark portals and recorded our second demo, six songs in total, a big step from two, and although not entirely satisfied with the finished product, we still thought it sounded pretty good, for our second effort. Two demos recorded in the space of less than one year, a lot of HARD WORK!! So we decided to release our second recording "Impure Grandeur", and add the first demo to it as an added bonus!! Two demos on one CD, a lot easier for us to market since times are not in our favour! We have sent of our demos to record labels, and got a few good responses from Nuclear Blast GmBH, Osmose Productions and Fullmoon Productions from our first demo. "Impure Grandeur" have allready been sent off, and got a few responses so far. So, we hope all goes well and we get signed soon!! And we hope that putting our music on Mp3.com will help us to garner more contacts, and attract more labels to listen to our music! Arne Babb will not eat our CD this time Metalion!! Or else, Arne Kee-Babb! So ends our biography or history, there shall be more to come in the future! Obviously a lot more happened, but that would be writing a book! Kill all things good!!!!
