    Artist History
The Dalai Llamas first began as a joking idea between Justin Turner and Jared Kessen to form a punk band. One day while at work, the two of them noticed a co-worker, Chris Stapor playing air bass to a really gay reo speedwagon song. When confronted about whether or not he played bass, Chris said yes, he did. This was quite unfortunate, as they had their hearts set on a lead bassoonist to complete the band...and nobody likes reo speedwagon. Chris joined the band during a jam session a few nights later, when they discovered that he possessed the hidden key to the funk of the universe. Some weeks later, Jared suggested The Dalai Llamas as a band name, and the 12th son was born-but was still drummerless. Nathan Yost came to a practice soon after the band got started, and after much jamming became the 4th 12th son. With the addition of this killer percussion onslaught the Dalai Llamas were complete. WE ARE THE TWELFTH SON OF THE LLAMA!
