Artist description The Amps consist of two band members, Mathew Powell and Andrew Masseurs. Hailing from New Zealand we have grown up listening to 80's, 90's music.We both love pretty much the same type of music and have a understanding when it comes to creating songs. Our songs are fast and slow always thinking of a single type song we write to please ourselves and the audience.In this album the songs are personal, about our lives at the moment and the writing of the album. We did this for ourselves, to have something to show for the amount of time we have spent together writing and recording songs.

Artist History Andy and Matt have been writing together since school. Playing in numourous bands together they have played both covers and originals live. In the early 90's a four track allowed them the freedom to write original songs. As two different three piece bands in the 90's they explored there songs but never took it further. As yet they have not found the right drummer who fits the mould, so at this stage andy programs all the drums. Andy basically wanted to have something to show for all the time they had spent writing. Together they have written over a hundred songs,many unrealised. Investing in a computer and program with no past computer knowledge Andy decided to do it all himself not knowing what he was setting himself up for. Two years later and with hardly any sleep a song list of thirty was cut to twelve and the album was finished. As yet the album has not been released in nz and we have no label.MP3.com is our first venture into the public arena. This project was only done for ourselves, now we are sitting back and waiting to get a response. It is our debut effort,and our first of many. We hope to produce a album of our older material in the future as well as beginning the new album in jan 2003.
