Artist description Abbe Samuels has been performing as a singer in the style of jazz, blues and R&B music for over ten years. It is no wonder that she has developed her own unique style of singing both jazz music and her own original acoustic rock songs with these influences as a backdrop. As a professional singer and songwriter, Abbe always successfully combines soulful melodies and introspective lyrics. Abbe's performances extend the eastern seaboard from South Florida to Boston. From 1989 to 1991 Abbe performed in South Florida singing jazz and blues and in 1991 she formed the Southern Reach blues band; a band that played the RiverWalk Blues Festival and performed in clubs from Key West to Ft. Lauderdale. By 1995 Abbe began her first all original band, Day of Colors, in New York City. With this band she performed in Greenwich Village at the Lion's Den, the Bitter End, Mercury Lounge, at Nightengale's on the Upper East side and in several other New York City clubs. By 1996 Day of Colors developed a very successful following. In 1998 Abbe's music and contacts led her to Boston where she enjoyed the acoustic rock scene. Soon Abbe's newly created band, Karma Days became well known in popular venues such as the Middle East, Club Passim in Cambridge, the Burren, and the Kendall Cafe. Currently, Abbe Samuels' exciting connections have brough her back to sunny South Florida. Her jazz group, The Abbe Samuels Band can be seen in the South Florida area; popular for being highly swingable (for its swing dancer following) and highly sultry and soulful. Abbe Samuels is currently rehearsing her own original songs with hew newly formed acoustic group, scheduled to begin peformances in the winter of 2002. She alsojust recently performed at Donald Trump's home in West Palm Beach; opening for the comedienne, Jackie Mason.
