Artist History
At some point in the late 90s, MJCM became frustrated with his attempts at landing a vocalist position, and decided to take up the guitar to improve his chances of getting in a band. After cobbling together a few songs with a drum machine (and initially with vocals), MJCM asked former bandmate and prog enthusiast J. Hesse if he'd be willing to lend some low-end to the project. After listening to the recordings, he agreed, and the weekend sessions began. For one brief weekend, MJCM and J.Hesse's former bandmate Mr. MCLII re-entered the picture for VOTAR's first and only show - on TV no less! After a while, MJCM suckered then bandmate D. Williamson to add that "real drums" touch. Unfortunately, at this point, Jack and Dave got pretty busy with their "real" bands, and VOTAR saw its demise. Still not content with his musical situation, MJCM continued on with what would become Verdandi. Prior to landing the bassist position for Chi-town metal-core madmen Zealot, MJCM began pushing his technical capabilities, but quickly burned out on the go-go-go, and settled into what may proove to be Verdandi's true nature - heavy as possible math rock with an equal dosage of noodling and doom. |
