Artist History Lubomir Astinov is born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1979. Begins playing guitar and is actively involved in music since his 14th year. By the age of 16 he already records his first album – the Heavy Metal album – Panta Morto with the Sofia band Naturmort. He is the composer, writer and musical producer on many of the album’s songs which were recorded in Sofia based studios “Graffity” with engineer Bobby Bontchev. At 18, Lubo attends and begins studies at Berklee College of Music, major Composition. After a year at Berklee, he records his second album – the Acoustic Jazz album – Hidjazz, recorded with famous Bulgarian percussionist - Stoian Pavlov at “Graffity” with engineer Oggy Kiossovsky. Hidjazz is featured at www.mp3.com and is a unique album, because of its improvised nature. Half of Hidjazz compositions are free-jazz improvization on solo guitar, and the other half are arrangements of Bulgarian Folklore tunes. Currently, Lubo is working on Contemporary Classical Compositions, with influences of late Beethoven, Wagner, Pantcho Vladigerov and others. Lubo have studied with: Jack Jarrett, Jim Smith, Julien Casper and Jack Pezanelli to name a few… Stoian Pavlov is a famous Bulgarian percussionist. He is regularly employed with the position of a percussionist at the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. A featured artist at the Apolonia festival and has numerous recordings and performances throughout the world. Member of the Polyrhitmia percussion band, Stoian Pavlov is the co-arranger and performer on half of the compositions in Hidjazz.
