Artist description
Jessica Stone delivers great lyrics and infectious melodies with unforgettable charm. Stone's music reflects a wide range of influences - from rock to country - and a penchant for play-on-words poetic lyrics. Her vocal delivery is at times deep, warm and suggestive and at other times high, clear and haunting.
The Muse's Muse writes, "In a clear, expressive voice, Jessica Stone mourns, she indicts, she tantalizes and she reflects. Jessica Stone's songs show shades of Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, Paula Cole and more. When you consider that right now millions of teenage girls are listening to mindless fluff such as, well, you can fill in the blanks, it's nice to know that singer/songwriters such as Jessica Stone provide an alternative for those who value their brains. There aren't many people who can deliver anger and forgiveness with equal conviction." |

Artist History
Jessica has performed her music at venues as varied as the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, the Poetry Café in London and the Equator Coffee House in Pasadena. Stone's first album, entitled Seven Letters, is an impressive debut.
Jessica started songwriting in 2000 while living and working in London and found she could not stop. Within months she had 30 songs in her notebook and a permanent bounce in her step. Soon thereafter Jessica decided to throw her conventional business career out the window to pursue her long-time passion for music. She attended the LA Music Academy in Pasadena, CA. While still a music student, she hosted an open-mic music and poetry series in Old Town Pasadena in the summer of 2001, and she founded indie record label Maidenstone Music for her debut full-length release, Seven Letters.
Through gumption and good fortune, some of LAMAs famous faculty (including legendary drummer Ralph Humphrey, guitarist Bill Fowler, keys player Curtis Brengle, bass player Ed Lucie, and vocalist Julie Ragins among others) lent their talents to the recording effort. Seven Letters, comprised of 12 original songs, was released in April of 2002.
In May 2002, Jessica attended the MTV Music Video Awards Japan as a VIP guest of the MTV Japan President. In June she was interviewed on Japanese FM radio (Urban Soul Club) in Tokyo and her songs '41 Gun Salute' and 'Seven Letters' received airplay. In July, Jessica received an unexpected letter from former President Bill Clinton, commending her on her Seven Letters release. (No, she never met him.) In the US, Jessica's song Got To Be Me is sure to be a radio hit, and is currently receiving airplay on college and internet radio. Jessica is in discussions for an indie record deal to promote and distribute Seven Letters and organize a tour, and she will soon be launching a national radio campaign. Though new to the scene, Jessica Stone is definitely on a roll!
