Artist History
Wrott formed in October 1990 when 18 year old Nick Cook met 16 and a half year old guitarist Mike Hamer in Aylesbury College. Half a year of chaotic noise later, and lots of members coming and going, they found 16 year old bassist Jamie Whallar (later called Del) who brought with him the ability to write a song. A few months later, Jamies mate, 14 year old Jamie Tatnell (aka Bug) joined and the band, by now through solid and relentless practice pro-level musicians, beat out this demo in their practice hut (a portacabin in Aylesbury). They later changed their name to Hostile Breed (no relation to the Russian band of the same name, though…we had it first!) and played a couple of gigs in Buckinghamshire. They then cut another demo in March ’92.
As Del now wrote most, if not all, of the material, the other members felt constricted by playing death metal all the time and left (all three of them at once!) to form Pure Genius (see link). Del carried on with Hostile Breed for a few years, deftly handling vocals himself. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Press Reviews
Metal Hammer reviewed our 'Desired Decomposition' demo in 1992. They were less than complimentary on the production and bass playing, but liked Nicks growls a lot. |
