Artist description
Take a handful of Nashville's hottest musicians, put them together to play purely for the love and fun of it, and what you come up with is Bird Dogs.
Their combined credits read like a who's who of American roots music. John Hiatt, Waylon Jennings, Delbert McClinton, Roy Buchanan, Jo-El Sonnier, The Judds, Etta James, Rodney Crowell, Randy Travis, Don Williams and Roseanne Cash have all recoqnized and benefited from their talents.
Their sound draws heavily on '60's Memphis R&B with screaming Hammond B-3, stinging lead guitar and soulful blues harp. Tight ensemble playing brings to life classic sounding songs that may leave you wondering if they were written thirty years or thirty minutes ago. All songs are original, penned by Bill Burnette and Johnny Douglas while signed as staff writers with Sony Music Publishing. |
