Artist History Formerly Known as "Still Thinking," 3 of Aleda's current members Sean, Juan and Greg have been jamming together for many years. Still Thinking was a punk band that gigged in the Durban and Pretoria regions, and who became a house hold name in the punk community. They were together for about 2 and a half years and recorded at top studios such as Northwind Studios, until Sean decided it was time to seek employment in the UK as the future in music wasn't looking to bright in this country. During his absence, Juan and Greg decided to recruit Braiden Ras on vocals and bass and this spawned the birth of Aleda. They toned down their punk influences and incorporated a bit of rock, emo and a mix of other genres. They gigged alot in Durban mainly Burn and the Wavehouse. Aleda's popularity was soaring after a short trip to Pretoria and Joburg and they were about to hit the studio when they suffered a major setback. Braiden had got engaged and decided he needed to focus on his career and his future. He left aleda in January 2003 after a year with Juan and Greg. Juan and Greg's attitude towards music was at an all time low at this point as this was the second time their band had split up. However they were not going to end their careers here and luckily at this point Sean had returned from the UK and they made an effort to incorporate him into Aleda again, taking the vocal role and adding a second guitar. They fished around for a new bassist as well and in April 2003 they discovered Shaun Dutton. Now the band was complete with Sean houseman on vocals and guitar, Greg Keegan on guitar and backing, Shaun Dutton on bass and Juan de Lange on Drums. They have been practising for a few months now and made a trip up to Joburg recently to record for SL magazines/ 5fm's unearthed project which will get them plenty of air play on 5fm and exposure throughout south africa. This brings us to where Aleda currently is today.

Press Reviews Another single track of Aleda's titled "Shame" will be featured on the soundtrack for Mr. Price Surfing Video which is titled "Liquid Paradise" and it is due out late June/July 2003. It was recorded the same time as old version "Broken" @ Northwind Studios October 2001. Aleda was selected for 5fm Unearthed project so the new version of "Broken" was recorded at RP Studios and it sounds good, it was produced & engineered by Aleda & Neil Snyman of RP Studios. It should appear on the June/July issue of SL CD Edition Magazine so make sure to get your copy. Old version "Broken" has been on the Powerzone Mp3 Charts for some weeks now.
