Artist description
Scott Serota's music is a fusion of progressive rhythms, innovative vocal harmonies, and unique acoustic guitar interplay. Critics have characterized it as possessing the songwriting sensitivity of James Taylor and the infectious folk-funk rhythms of the Dave Matthews Band. Scott Serota is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter. While he has worked on a variety of projects, he contributes the majority of his songwriting sensibilities and unique flatpicking and fingerpicking techniques to solo efforts. His acute awareness of music history and in-depth study of music and writing make him a constantly evolving singer/songwriter. The songs sampled here are a collection of recordings produced by Noah Rickun during the fall of '99 and the spring of 2000 consisting of all original material composed by Scott Serota. Songs were mixed by Nate Timmerman and mastered by Mark Whitcomb. Comments welcome. All songs are copyright 2000 Scott Serota. |

Artist History
(Thanks to all of you for listening. I've got some new material nearly ready to go. Sorry about the wait. It will be worth it, I promise.) Currently in Upstate New York producing a variety of projects including his own upcoming release later this year at the Loft Studio, Scott Serota is an ambitious young man. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin and playing countless clubs and coffehouses in that circuit, including the prestigious Wisconsin Union, he travelled to Europe where he performed to audiences in Portugal, Morocco, Spain, and Italy. Returning to the states for a brief stint at the Berklee college of music, he quickly split and updated his modest home studio setup into a fully- functional professional recording studio, where he currently spends many sleepless hours contemplating the ins and outs of the recording arts. His third album, which contains material spankin' full of ethereal vintage flavors reticent of the Beach Boys, Nick Drake, and James Taylor is to be premiered at this site soon. Keep checking back! |
