Artist description
Rafi Valdes was born on September 9, 1972 in Havana, Cuba.
He first became interested in music at the age of
eight. He studied classical piano for six years.
When he came to the U.S. he began to play Jazz in
his Uncle's band. Rafi plays guitar, saxophone, and
flute, but his main instrument is the piano. In present
time, he is a medical student at the University of
South Florida. Rafi quotes, "Although I practice
medicine, my first love is music." He fell in love
with Jazz when he came to America.
