Artist History Formed in 1995 by 3 students and one staffer at the engineering school Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the band quickly built a reputation as a killer live act with a heavy, melodic sound, under the name Absolute Zero. After a split in 1997, they reunited as Obsolete Zero.
