Capella Monacensis is a group of soloists from Munich who devote themselves to play and interpret early music. Capella Monacensis plays the music of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in live performances of music that go from approximately the year 1200 to 1600. This ensemble - made up of 7 professional musicians - consists of a vocal and an instrumental group. Its repertoire embraces music ranging from the songs of troubadours to the madrigal, and from the improvised art of the jongleurs to the instrumental music of the sixteenth century. The instrumental group comprehends wind, string, fretted and percussion instruments. The Capella Monacensis, with its instruments from different periods, is able to perform the various pieces as they were originally played.Over the years the Capella Monacensis has performed in many cities all over Europe.
