Music Style
Skin + Bone + Electrics + Rhythmetics + Synthetics = 3d5spd's Ethical Bias. Morphology? Textural/Psychotropic-Post-Prog-Pop w/ shifting flashes of volume worship and dreamtime calm. |

Artist History
We cohered in '96 in Atlanta, GA, through an exhaustive cycle of classified ads and nocturnal improvs. Unafraid of independence, we self-released the full-length CD Faster Gravity in Jan. '98 to critical and fan acclaim; later that year, we were included on Daemon Records Hempcyclopedia CD-ROM compilation alongside such notables as Michael Franti of Spearhead. In July '99, released the 4-song CD-EP Tracking the Hydroplane. August '01, released 4-song CD-EP Radial Quartet (three tracks were recorded with Athens-based indie-wunderkind David Barbe engineering, real audio can be heard at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/3d5spd3). On Nov. 5, 2002, we released our 4th CD Fever in the Ice Age on Atlanta-based indie Two Sheds Music (http://www.2sheds.com/). Select reality shifts: nationwide college-radio airplay; the inclusion of Hydroplane's "Propeller Sky" in the '99 SPIN College Radio Series; advice/kudos from Robert Fripp and Mark Mothersbaugh; live-shows with Bailter Space, American Analog Set, Dismemberment Plan, Seven Percent Solution, The Sunshine Fix and Uz Jsme Doma. The beats roll in and the waves roll back. |
