Artist History ...and on the 7th day, he rested. Well, on the 8th day there was a world unlike no other. Filled with school, work and no play. Sure can make a guy go dull. It was one of those boring business classes in grade 10. Going to that same class day in and day out made you wanna rip your hair out. "Everything was going so smoothly" says Dmitri as he was in one of his many conversations with his friend Sean. "There I was dead smack in the conversation about music, little did I know I was in way farther then I thought." You see, Sean Kelly had been talking to Dmitri about music during class and what type he enjoyed and so on and so forth. When Sean asks, "Do you play an instrument?" This is where it goes horribly arye. Dmitri says, "Yes, yes I do. I used to play drums and can play the guitar." Now at this point it seems to spark Sean further into the conversation. So here is where it all begins. "Would you like to start up a band?" Sean asks. So as exciting as everything sounded, Dmitri answers, "Yes." Sean played guitar so what was Dmitri going to play? So it just so happens that Julian Cutting was in that class as well. With him and his eaves-dropping, he quickly joined the conversation. Julian stated many times over that he loved Rage and could play probably every single one of their songs on the drums. Sean is impressed. So Sean asked him to join the band as well and so he did. From that point on, they became a three person band with no name and no songs. Everyone has to start somewhere. So they had a drummer and a guitarist, the only thing left...was a bassist. Sean kept coming with the questions and Dmitri was wondering how much more of this lie he could put on. Here it was, Sean asks, "Can you play Carousel by Blink 182?" Not blamming Dmitri's sweet innocence, he answers, "Yea, of course, that song is easy." Keeping in mind, at this point Dmitri had never heard of that song before and also keeping in mind that Carousel is a very hard song to play. Sean was so surprised and figured he was in way over his head by starting up a band with people who were better then he was. Now this is the good part. Dmitri didn't own an instrument at this point because his old acustic apparently "broke" and was given away and he "sold" the drums. Now, Dmitri had to go out and spend his Christmas money on a brand new bass and amp. Then, there was band practice #1. Sean was all ready to hear Dmitri's and Julians talents when, to Sean's surprise...Dmitri had none. But on the plus side, Julian did. After many sackings and yelling, Sean calmed down and knew teaching Dmitri was going to be hard. A typical lesson went always like this: Sean: Dim, just do me a favor and hit the "E" string. ... Sean: No, the "E" string. ... Sean: No, the lower string dumbass. ... Sean: For the love of God kid, are you a retard? ... Sean: That's it, your getting a sacking. Finally after many lessons, Dmitri picked it up. But if you ask Sean, he'll say that Dmitri hadn't learned a thing. But that's Sean for ya. Well, Dmitri thought having a three person band really sucked, he wanted another guitarist. This is where good ol' Andy comes in. Now, enthusiasm and Andy do not go together so naturally you'd think that he'd be a bit excited...hell no. Sean asked Andy in history class if he wanted to join their band. Andy's response is, "Yea ok...I guess...sure." There you have it, the beginning of a four person band known to you as...None Of The Above. Andy had been playing guitar for about two years on and off so he'd be the perfect 2nd guitarist...and he was. We won't get into the whole name changing thing and the cancellation of dates and all of that but they have gone through about 4 different names and are finally sticking with NOTA. This is just the basis of the story, there are more parts but then we wouldn't want this to be too long now would we?
