Artist description Mozzie has been playing music for 35 years on flute clarinet and sax.This has culminated in a vast variety of musical styles. In this album "A journey thru time and place Mozzie has crossed the boundaries of baroque to latin salsa from reggae to indian from japanese Koto to classical strings.Modern technology has afforded Mozzie the oppurtunity to display his compositional and performance skills. a brief description of the tracks goes like this: "A bush jam" a lilting melody set to Australian bird calls and crickets setting the mood of dawn in the australian bush. "A wee bit of Reggae" this is a tribute to Bob Marley. a happy flute melody using a roots reggae backing. "Cha cha cha" a lively modern cha cha allowing Mozzie the oppurtunity to display his technique over a lively latin feel. "Dancing with flute" another latin rythm in which a lilting melody to start and a developing improvisation ensues. "Havana for a day" set to a latin salsa 3-2 clava pays homage to the fabulous music of cuba. "In a baroque mood" a tribute to the great J S Bach this flute solo is set to orchestral strings. "Journey to japan" reminiscient of traditional japanese shakuhachi and koto is perfect for the meitative mood. "Mystic time" uses the synthesier backing with a plaintive flute melody over the top, the sounds are very modern. "Oriental garden" has been likened to a traditional nth chinese song again using flute over koto to enhance the asiatic feel. "Riverside" let your imagination be taken to the forest with a river gently running while puck plays his luring melody. "Romance for flute and strings" a classical composition in the style of the romantic period using orchestral strings. "Tabla dance" conjours up the snake charmer to the sounds of flute,tambura and tablas it has been said that this piece comes from hindustan. all these tunes are origianals composed and performed by Mozzie using the lastest that technology offers. As you can tell it is diffently a journey thru time and place. Hoping you enjoy listening to these tunes.It has taken 5 mths to put this album together and lot of hard work and sweat has gone into it.It has been extremely good to be able to see the end result.
