Artist History
Luis was born in Montreal to Colombian parents, and returned to Colombia at the age of six where he grew up and lived until he moved to Vancouver in 1997. Before he moved though, he was quite the name in the Pop-Rock world though, as he was playing keyboards and singing background vocals for Shakira on her 'Pies Descalzos' world tour which lasted 7 months and presented them to crowds of 35,000 or more at times. He also played keys and contributed songs to Rock band 'Poligamia' which was signed to Sony Music and recorded two CD's with them.
In Vancouver he finished his studies in Digital/Analogue Recording Arts at Columbia Academy and has still been travelling the world with a variety of acts: a Celtic Rock band, a Salsa/Merengue orchestra; and more recently, a funky electro-pop trio: 'DJ Killers' (visit www.djkillers.com for a video clip and some history.
He is now promoting his newest independent release, a Vocal Jazz album on which he has some very talented players behind him: Chris Sigerson on piano, and Rick Kilburn (Dave Brubeck, Chet Baker) on bass. Rick is a Juno Award recipient and also produced, mixed, and mastered the CD. 'Day Dream'.
Currently, he is working on an instrumental Elevtronica/Funk album that is sure to capture curious ears worldwide...Stay Tuned. |
