Artist description
From the creator of Run Spot Run and James Bond Goes Surfing comes Leeko, a fledgling band from Fort Wayne, IN.
J.R. Dahman stars as a self-involved stippler / sing-guitarist pursuing his dream of stardom. A chance encounter with Seth Mynhier, a music obsessed guitar player from South Whitley whose only determination until now was to find a girlfriend, sends them on a whirlwind adventure in search of the missing pieces of their band. When they run into rude and crude bass player turned drummer, Schieff, played by Jeff Schiefferstein of Split Rail and Sauce Policy, things quickly run amuck. With so many eccentric characters, Leeko required a voice-of-reason to blance out the insanity. That's when the three meet up with beautiful, wanna-be bass player, Heather damnit and become hoplessly smitten. Although she hadn't been playing long, they decide she's at least as good as Sid Vicious (besides this isnt rocket science) and throw her into the mix. Unfortunately, Heather at times seems to be as off balance as the rest.
These short-comings aside, the four seem to have a real chemistry, and if it is indeed possible for a band to be both stylish and tasteless, then Leeko certainly fits the bill. |
