Artist History -222- -history- 222 began first in 1974 and again in 1979 when certain vessels first began to take shape. The research and production related elements of 222’s history, however, are far too voluminous for the intentions of this document, the focus of which will be recent developments and recent works. 222 achieved its current form in April 2000 CE. The first archived test recordings from this era were designed to remove the involved participants from any musical and technical contexts to which they were familiar, thus creating a completely open environment for experimentation in all available forms. The careful engineering of a void space in which to work has successfully resulted in a completely unique understanding of both music and the fundamentals of sound. After a period of nearly a year (Gregorian calendar) of producing private test recordings, it was decided that 222 had reached the point where it was ready to be imposed upon the world. This decision was reached after the privately released LP, ‘Cursing Men and Blessing Lions’ (Gol002) had been disseminated. This was the second Golgotha Communications Ltd. (a body organized with the function of disseminating such works as these to the general public) release, and was limited to twenty-three copies. Gol001, ‘Shattered Glass’ has yet to be shined upon by the Sun. Following Gol002 it was decided to further the scope of 222’s operations, and several area specific actions were undertaken, some in conjunction with Golgotha Communications Ltd., and others with the H.oly O.rder of A.braxas and the Temple of Infinite Soul, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The nature of these operations was and is one of immediacy, and certain legal restrictions disallow the relation of many of these events. Others go undescribed in accordance with the wishes of involved parties. While such activities are an integral part of 222’s ongoing goals, they are secondary to sound research and recording, to which this document now returns. 222’s second sanctioned release is the forthcoming ‘The Land of Fire’ LP (Gol003), a partial musical record of the group’s research and correspondence with the southern Argentine region known as Tierra Del Fuego. A companion piece, preliminarily titled ‘El Rubio’ is currently under production, along with other works to be completed and released over the coming year. Information regarding projects currently under production will be made available as it becomes necessary. Zero encompasses in itself the sum of all possible numbers, and the sum of all possible numbers is Zero.
