Artist History
Tom has been playing bass for a LONG time. He honed his chops as a young teen, copping lines by Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones and Tom Petersson. Further brainwashing came at the hands of John Entwistle, Stanley Clarke, Tony Levin, Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Percy Jones, Bootsy Collins and on and on. Besides playing bass, Tom is an experienced synthesist/programmer, vocalist and guitar player. He spent a good part of the eighties as bassist and keyboardist for the progressive/modern rock band Random Axis. By 1990 the band ran out of steam and Tom decided to shift gears and ditch the synths (for now), joining the multi-cultural hardcore/funk band Stuff Treatment. After the departure of ST's vocalist, he joined Voodoo Rain for a four year run, touring the Midwest and putting out two self released CDs. When VR ran it's course, Tom spent a year on and off with Chicago/Romanian goth/pop legends, Terminal White. About the time TW's singer relocated to upstate New York, Tom got the call from cutting edge techno/metal band Pivot Man. Having been a fan of the band already, Tom jumped onboard and went on to co-write the regional hit "The Whole Way Down". With the departure of the band's original drummer, Tom soon decided to once again move on. To fill the void, he tapped into his roots and assembled Chicago's most authentic 80s new wave cover band, the DeLoreans. Tom is currently doing live and studio work with acts such as Lindsay Miller, Ivory Wire, June, Boys' Entrance and Hemp. |
