Artist History
This Brussels based band specialises in a metal influenced style of hardcore and saw the light in 1999.
From day one they began writing their own songs. Over the years Bloodshot’s style changed drastically but lately the band has definitely found their own style and most important their own sound!
In the early days the only thing that still was missing was a good and motivated bassplayer.
The band depended for concerts and rehearsals on many friends who helped them out for a short time.
Even Ross from Length of Time played bassguitar on a couple of their concerts!
Finally and after a long search it is Luc (from a band called Denied) who decided to join the band.
With this new and solid line up serious practicing could finally begin. The current line up is:
Vadim (guitar), Alex (drums), Luc (bass) and Stef (throat)!! Yes, Bloodshot is the only band in the
Belgian hardcorescene with two Bielorussian members: Alex and Vadim!
Which brings us to the style of this band. One can describe Bloodshot’s style as groovy metal(core) with a lot of death and thrash metal influences (Slayer and Pantera are indeed major influences) and some beatdown parts to make it all perfect! This, in combination with lyrics that are describing the dark side in all of us, with an obscure inclination for serial killers!
After a lot of positive reactions (mainly heard on our concerts in 2000) everything suddenly became very quiet around the band. The reason: they were recording their first demo miniCD (Carnal assault upon a godless world)! Yet again this CD is allready getting very positive reactions from all over the country (and even from other countries), resulting in a growing ambition in the band.
By the end of 2001 Bloodshot decides to go back to the studio (DéStudio in Asse-studio where before bands like Born from pain, Do or Die, Full Court Press and many others recorded) to record their first full length CD called 'A pestilence called humanity' (12 tracks of pure madness). They sign with Cartel Records from Finland (Boxcutter, Krutch, One second thought, E-town concrete) and beginning of may this CD is out!
By this time a second guitar player (Ollie from a band called Stake) is found to give even more power to the live permances! In the past Bloodshot played together with bands as: Born from pain, Do or die, Disrespect, Stamping ground, Liar, Deformity, Length of Time, Congress, Deviate, Drowning, Maximum Penalty, Caliban, Negate, Angelcrew, Crawlspace and many others...
During all this years Bloodshot continued playing shows throughout Belgium and in countries around like Germany. In 2001 they played on the Dourfestival and now that the CD is out a lot of shows are planned to promote it all over Belgium and also Holland, Germany, France.... They will play in august on the Streetlive festival (one of the biggest hardcore festivals in Belgium) together with Deviate, Real mackenzies and Angelcrew!
Anyway the main objective remains playing as many concerts as possible in as much countries as possible! Also to play on both scenes: hardcore AND metal!! If you have the chance to check Bloodshot out, don’t hesitate because this band deserves your support! Also check out www.bloodshot.be or feel free to send them a mail on bloodshot_666@hotmail.com
Last but not least to say it in their own therms: stay motherfucking evil!! |

Bloodshot - A Pestilence Called Humanity (CD)
I had seen Bloodshot from BXL a couple of times before and when I got this CD I was quite curious on how the vocals would sound on these recordings, since that was the thing I did not forget about this band when I saw them play live, the vocals. They were fucking brutal. After hearing this album a couple of times now, I must say, it sounds as it does on stage, brutal! All Out War comes to my mind. OK, the production could be a bit better if you ask me, but these guys make that up on stage. Slayer-riffs, Six feet Under, and vocals that range from deep grunts to a more straight up NY/NJ-sound, spitting dark lyrics. Can't wait to see this band again...check out www.bloodshot.be for more info about this band!

Bloodshot - A Pestilence Called Humanity CD
(Cartel Enterprises)
Belgium has had quite a name to uphold when it came to metalcore. Liar, Arkangel, Crawlspace and many more played their mix of hardcore and metal on many European stages. Now there is a new kid on the block, name Bloodshot. From the capital Brussels, they unleash brutality and ferocity. This is much more deathmetal than it is hardcore, but it still has some great breakdowns. Also the lyrics touch the dark side of humanity, which is more common within the metal scene. This one could easily be labelled Belgium’s heaviest.
