Artist History
THEE FLANDERS
Punkabilly From Hell:
founded in 1997 as "Ted Flanders and the Hot Wings"
and played only cover versions in the beginning.
The band consisted of Dennis, Lessing and Norman
at this point. One year later the first drummer
left and was replaced by Micha, who also started
writing lyrics.1999 the band recorded their first
demo with the title "Denn sie wissen nicht, was
sie tun!" (for our non-german readers: this was
the german title for the James Dean movie "Rebel
Without A Cause"). It contained 13 songs, and one
of them was published on a CD of the "Text und
Ton" magazine. On Halloween of the following year
thee Flanders recorded another demo with 22 tracks.
In 2001 the band got in touch with Felix, singer,
bassist and songwriter of the Oi!/Streetpunk band
Crackpot. He finally joined the band which started
to work on new songs and also had some gigs with a
good turnout. Since 2002 the band is named Thee
Flanders - the other name was simply too long.
By now Thee Flanders have a repertoire of
approximately 50 own songs, and it's up to you
how you call their style! You will surely hear
from this band in the near future because they
will appear on several compilations (for example
Crazy Love, Banzai, High Voltage, Dynamite 7"...) and they
plan to record their debut album in November 2002. |
