Artist description It is not just an urban art form anymore. Hip hop is a collection of graffiti, dexterity in rhyming and flexibility of break dancing. This collaboration is used in mainstream commercials as well as every-day marketing. It is a matured business and on the dawn of it's third generation. Throughout the years, Hip hop has not only developed it's own dialogue but has now (more than ever) developed new means of fashion. Almost every form of expression has been effected in some way by this popular genre and has been an influence world-wide. It was once said that Hip hop was a "fad" and would pass with time. It seems this so-called "fad" has reached a new level. Not only do Americans have their understanding of Hip hop but over the past couple years, Canadian talent has been brought to the light. With the dream to prosper and a goal to be met, four young men put their heads together to create a group now known as Night Hood-the newest talent to emerge from Canada.

Artist History Like many other rappers, Nighthood has come along way to reach the point in which they are at today. As Canadian talent begins to excel in every aspect of the entertainment industry, Nighthood is no different. Konflict, Devious, Hypnotix and Virus, who ranged between the ages of 18-19, came together in 1998 to form what is now know as Nighthood. What started of with rappin’ in school cafeterias and battling online, has now become a one of Toronto’s newest and most talented rap groups in the industry. Each member has something different to bring to the group, either lyrically or mentally. Furthermore, members will write their own lyrics, while another thinks of a concept. Nighthood alongside Richard Ellis and M. Bless has written and produced more then 50 tracks. The skill as a lyricist is more then evident when considering Nighthood. Born into a musical family, Devious grew up listening to tunes by his uncle Half Pint, Who encouraged him as well as the group to continue to push in the industry. Performing at the Metro Toronto hall, and at the wheels talent show to name a few, Nighthood is just scraping the tip of the iceberg. All members are aware that the odds are hard to beat in a competitive industry, but still they have not deferred. Maestro, who is one of Canada’s known artists, had spoke to the guys and encouraged them to continue to pursue in this industry. The men state, “We are looking to reach as many people as we can with our music and show then that there is more to hip hop culture than just girls, money and cars.” With their debut single, Joy Ride, they are sure to succeed. The song depicts life as a gift that has not yet been open, and the life one live now is the Joy Ride. Working with One Vizion Entertainment and already gathering a strong community following, Nighthood has already sold over 1000 copies of their CD “new beginning” on the street and is sure to succeed in this industry with the right kind of support and opportunities.
