Artist description Nicee D is an extreemly versitle individual. She is a singer/songwriter, a producer, a multi-instrumentalist and a freelance writer; her favorite is writing short stories. You might even catch her dancing at a live show every now and then, "Janet Jackson" mic and all! With a very energetic personality, Nicee D has a "won't quit" attitude and approach to life. Always claiming Christ Jesus as her constant source, her purpose in life and music is to share with all who will listen the wonder of a real relationship with God through His son Jesus. Nicee D tries to be as helpful as she can to people, often giving of her time and talents to, among other things, help mentor, develop or promote other artists. Always honest and upfront, you quickly learn that what you see is what you get when it comes to Nicee D...forget "keeping it real," this girl keeps it raw!

Music Style Nicee D's style is R&B flavored Hip Hop with a bit of Soul and a pinch of Funk, influenced by the Gospel message.

Musical Influences Musically, Nicee D takes a few cues from Britian's premier Acid Jazz band Incognito; lyrically her role models are Fred Hammond, The Cross Movement, Sean Slaughter, and Corey Red & Precise.

Artist History Nicee D offically started her musical journey in college when she couldn't be kept out of the arts building; at any given time you could have found Nicee D practicing piano, playing saxophone, banging out beats on African and Latin percussion instruments or up in the studio creating music with a sequencing program. Upon graduation of a private Liberal Arts school in New England, Nicee D returned to her native Bronx, New York and became the musical director for her church in Manhattan's Lower East Side. For a period of time, she gave music lessons on the weekend and learned much from the other musicians around her. Very slowly but surely, Nicee D began to take her song writing and music creation seriously and after much prayer, decided to put together her first independent release entitled "All You Need." Since creating and relseasing the CD, the doors of opportunity for Nicee D as a solo performer have been continually opening. Constantly challenging her self to greater excellence, Nicee D plans to emerge in 2003 with a full length release.
