    Artist History
JameZ has been laying down cutting edge trax and recording technology for years. "Don't Throw Up on my Shoes" wasn't just a regional hit on the Beantown North Shore - some say it paved the way for eclectic Jamaican dancehall acts like Beenie Man (or, would have, if he ever heard it) and, no doubt, the neo-Ska movement. And Tight Shorts was a grunge anthem the FIRST time flannel shirts were popular. In 1980, he had the first known design of a complete sampled-based music synthesizer, called the Electronovak. And 8 years later, developed the first commercially available PC-based sample, marketed by Digital Audio Systems. Poor sales were probably due to a latent market effect driven by a mistargeted distribution channel strategy. Or a sucky product. More recently, as co-founder of the dotcom Radioamp.com, he brought 300 channels of kick-ass streaming music to portal radio listeners (CDNow, Barnes & Noble, Alta Vista, iWon, NBCi, to name-drop a few) - that is, until visionless VC's and soulless management drove it into the ground (hear "Snake in the Grass" for details). But music will never die. You just have to keep turning up the volume to hear it. Born Jim Elvidge, he grew up on the rough streets of a white-bread Philly suburb and founded a Turtles clone band at age 10 to kick start his performing career. The Doors were the next band to mock in 1970 - a gig that lasted all of 3 practices. But in high school, top drummer in the region honors earned him a spot in the Buddy Rich Jazz Band* and, later, the notorious W.G.O. 17 bands (include Cornell Univerisity's legendary Valence Band) and an Engineering degree later, he found himself part of the Merrimack Valley legend that was "The F*cks," with such musical luminaries as guitarist extraordinaire Vic Lee Manmusk, hard rockin' bassist H. McNasty, and the Notorious Y.A.K. Fast forward to 2002, and JameZ forms MO57. So check out the debut EP release, "Alpha State," featuring the title track and first single, a Maxim-reader's fantasy. Hard core LA moshers will be skankin' to "Snake in the Grass" while the Ibiza glitterati pulsate to "Starfish" and "Icy Anna" on Noche Brasiliana. Then catch the Big-O tour where JameZ, Y.A.K., and Pravda's "MC of the Year" Smack-Eye play to sellout crowds and clubs. Meanwhile, JameZ is keepin' it real in the studio, always open to new gigs - soundtracks for Playstation games, Mirimax flick and shit like that. *not affiliated in any way with Buddy Rich, or any of his musicaul groups.
