Artist History
Brian Bailey is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from London, Ontario. He started playing at the age of ten and by 1996, at the age of seventeen, he was playing his music in various night clubs, managing his band Scapegoat, and produced, wrote, and performed on his first CD, “Release”.
Brian’s release won the attention of The London Free Press and the interview led to a half page article describing his music as ‘psychedelic blues rock’. Prior to his album, he was also featured in an article in London’s Scene Magazine under the name ‘Spring Velvet’.
His music has circulated the radio waves, playing on CHRW/Radio Western and 103.1/The Hawk. His album “Release” is showcased in the archived music on the CHRW web site.
In 1999, Brian decided to test a new audience in Switzerland. He performed at various pubs and was very well received. After three months, 4200 air miles and ten new songs, Brian returned to Canada and continued playing solo and band shows.
In July of 2002, Brian was invited to play for an audience of over 2500 at the World Youth Day Concert in London, Ontario. Brian is currently recording his second album, while continuing his weekend gigs.
In addition to his stated accomplishments, Brian played and studied the cello for seven years. He also plays bass guitar and drums.
He is valued for his soulful performances and is known as the guy with the curly hair, Bigsby Kid.
Brian is currently working on a new album that promises to be superior to Scapegoat's "RELEASE" both sonically and compositionally.
Now, backed by a solid rhythm section (consisting of Shawn "Soggy" Smith on the bass guitar and Chad "Bulldog" Kentner on the drums), Brian is focused on continuing the study of Electric Blues-Rock.
