Artist History
The Robes formed in the heart of Providence in 1999 when Ulysses Taylor and Herman Desoto met at the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2001, the two relocated to Willamsburg where they met members of The Brooklyn Noise Collective
(Nora James and Doris Sammins). After a brief stint in The Robes, Nora and Doris left
the band in the summer of 2002 to go back to school, leaving The Robes in their original line-up. Herman and Ulysses
continued on without them and went on to record their upcoming debut LP to be released on EBM Audio. |
