Music Style ska

Artist History It must have been around 1999 when Plus had the vision of a band.. He and Wobbo were students at the Graphic Lyceum in Rotterdam. Plus told Wobbo about the vision, and Wobbo was willing to play drums. After a while Wobbo gave up the idea of being the drummer and picked up trumpet lessons. Plus knew a girl, Marlies, who liked to sing, and asked her if she would like to sing in their band. She liked the idea. But with a bass player, a singer and a trumpeteer, you'd have a rather poor band.. So we used the internet to search for other musicians. After posting in many, many forums and signing many, many guestbooks and chatting in many, many chatrooms we found our drummer Giel, saxophone player Roshni and guitar player Ed. The band was formed. Luckaly for us Giel and Ed already had several band experiences. And in September 2001 we rehearsed for the first time. Even though it was the first time together and only 2 members had experience, we'd manage to create our first song. The Sun! From that point it all went really fast. We wanted to make the horn-section complete with a trombone player, and found a few on the net. Until Paulus J. 2nd stayed with us. Even Stijn was contacted via the internet, and he claims to like us.. That is "he likes us enough to stay".. In July we were ready to play our first gig. We had about 9 self-written songs to play. All ska, but because of the musicians' various backgrounds they also contain outbursts into funk, punk, reggae, blues, jazz, easy listening and rock!. So we played our first gig on the 19th of Juli in Dordrecht, the hometown of Ed & Paulus J. 2nd.. The crowd went wild! After that we kept rehearsing, and writing new songs. We played another gig in Dordrecht, which was even more succesfull, and we've got a couple more coming up!
