Artist History
The early days:
Mike (guitar), Rod (bass + vocals) and Nick (drums) attended the same school and spent their early teenage years peddling about in various bands at school playing an assortment of Metallica covers and going through several lineup changes. "Eat Your Greens" was Nick and Mike's first band with Rod's then girlfriend on bass.
No wanting to be outdone, Rod went out and got himself his first bass and spent hours practising every day, whilst standing in occasionally as a naked guitarist for "Eat Your Greens"!
The boys then started a side project called "Puppies in The Oven" comprising the current Route 215 lineup with an extra member on second guitar. Shortly after "Puppies in The Oven", Rod decided to form a new band and do it properly - Route 215 was born!
The line up was identical to the current one, with the exception of Paul "Passion" Jones on drums. The band rehearsed three times a week and unsurprisingly Paul lost his passion pretty quickly and quit a week before the first Route 215 show. Nick was brought in as a temporary fix and after the band's first show (Rod's college disco-party!) was asked to stay as the permanent 215 drummer boy!
Things get moving:
By this time, all other side projects and bands that the guys were in had broken up which left them to concentrate on Route 215 and things started moving.... slowly! Eventually they got around to recording their first CD and pressed a VERY limited run - about 100 - which were given out and as quickly as possible as it didn't sound too hot.
Fast forward about a year of playing London and the boys decide to set up a collective with a few East London bands (Route 215, Cider, Werk?) called Fanny Bone Records, the aim of which was to release records together. Paul "Passion" Jones (who formed Cider, then Cousin Luke) got a tattoo done on his wrist commemorating the FBC - talk about regretting tattoos!
Under the guise of the Fanny Bone Collective, Route 215 recorded their first full length album entitled, "She Fell In Love With A Juvenile Delinquent" with a few copies still available today (this album is not going to be re-pressed so you'd better get a copy soon before they're all gone). The band continued playing shows around London.
The summer of 2000 saw a lot more shows being played by the 215 and also led them to befriending the Hectic Crew (Captain Everything, Bombjacks etc.) This resulted in them recording a split with Captain Everything entitled, "Make The Love Connection" (released on 20 Deck Records, 2002) and which has so far received rave reviews everywhere. Route 215 started playing higher key shows around the UK and recently headlined a 5000 crowd show in York and have played with the likes of The Dickies, Consumed, Union 13, Spunge, Uncle Brian, Leek And The Bouncing Uptones and other fantastic bands.
What lies ahead:
The 215 have got their van, have quit their jobs and are touring full time now! They are headed into the studio in November for an entire month to record a new full length for 20 Deck Records entitled, "Steal Your Soul With Rock 'n Roll". It's gonna rock so prepare to be amazed by the 215... coming to a venue near you soon!

Press Reviews
Make The Love Connection Split EP Review:
Now this was a pleasant surprise. Pop-punk seems to be at saturation point at present, with at least 4 million new generic soundalikes popping up every month, so this split EP is a much needed breath of fresh air. The premise is as old as punk itself, take two similarly minded bands, give them half a CD each and see what they can do. And while the music on this little silver disk owes a lot to NOFX in both style and production, both bands inject theri respective tunes with enough charm and character to come across as far more vital than the aforementioned soundalikes. All in all, a solid release that reminds you exactly why you got into this whole punk rock thing in the first place.
