Musical Influences Anything from the 60's

Artist History -Worked as solo artist for many years from the Midwest to Texas, Met Nanci Griffith in Austin and toured with her as well as being a session musician on her first album. Also did session work on several other Austin artist’s records during this period. Moved to Nashville to write songs and open his own project studio for songwriters. Rick worked on sessions for the Nanci Griffith Grammy nominated album "LAST OF THE TRUE BELIEVERS_ and LONESTAR STATE OF MIND. Became a staff writer at Bug Music for the next 3 years. Also later wrote for Sawyer Browns Club Zoo Music. Rick owns and runs the Katie Walker Media Group and has a private project studio for writers and budding artists in Nashville. He has made recordings and worked with such artists as Nanci Griffith, Steve Young, Trisha Yearwood, Bryan White, Lyle Lovett, Marshall Crenshaw, Leroy Parnell, David Lee Murphy, Seminole, Les Taylor, John Stewart, Robin Lee, The Woodys, Willis Alan Ramsey, Steve Fromholtz, The Explosives, Blake Weldon. Randy Thompson, among many others. He co-produced David Wills for CBS records. He has done pre-production on many top country songs including Garth Brooks hit Wild Horses and co-wrote the number 1 country hit on George Strait "Id Like To Have That One Back_ with Bill Shore and AARON BARKER and international folk hit "Trouble In The Fields_ with Nanci Griffith. His songs have been recorded by-Barbara Mandrell, John Michael Montgomery, Nanci Griffith, Neil McCoy, Maura O'Connell, Lacy J. Dalton, Martina McBride, The Whites, Seminole, Rusty Weir, and others.
