Artist description
Keyboard player, currently living in
Ireland. I work in the MIDI format and enjoy
making music to suit an atmosphere. Usually my
intention is to fit the music to a scene or
sequence of some kind in a video game. My aim
is always to make the music melodic and enjoyable
to listen to in its own right though, so I try not
to allow the pursuit of atmosphere, to override
melodic value. |
 |
Music Style
Atmospheric instrumental music best suited to games or films, but ranging in style from piano based and ambient to techno and trance. |
 |
Musical Influences
Many progressive influences such as Camel, Mike Oldfield and Rick Wakeman as well as various Game and Film soundtrack composers. |

Artist History
I have always been a big fan of video game music
and film scores. Like everyone else I enjoy a good
song, but I always prefer to listen to instrumental
music of an ambient or atmospheric kind. My favourite
musicians are Camel, Mike Oldfield and Rick Wakeman
each of whom has a unique style ranging from Rock/Jazz
to New Age. When I was in school I had the chance to
take up playing the bugal which after a little while
I gave up for the flute. I really loved playing the
flute, but I had to give it up when my family moved
to Ireland. Eventually I had the opportunity to
purchase an instrument of my own and I settled on
keyboards. We had owned a few keyboards in the past
but no one in my family played seriously. Being very
much into computers I was aware of MIDI and thought a
keyboard would offer me the most flexibility, even
though I obviously longed to get a flute as well. I
started recording music as soon as I was good enough
to play decent music and a few ideas were coming to
me. I always steered in the direction of game music.
Several years on I have just about 70 original MIDI tunes of
different styles. I have composed music for several
freeware game projects and repeated requests for music
to suit various games has accelerated the growth of
my music both in style and quantity. More recently I
managed to purchase a flute, but unfortunately it isn't
coming back to me as quickly as I thought it would.
Maybe, soon enough I will make music using the flute as
well. I hope you enjoy the music I make available here. |
