Suspender is a studio/live project from 24 year old producer JP Sancho, which started back in 1999 in LA, California.
Originally from Argentina, JP started in music playing piano at the age of 8, followed by drums at 12. He joined numerous bands in Argentina, where you can find him either playing drums, programming beats or singing with prestigious gigs like Keyser Soze, choose best band of the year 1998 in Rosario, Argentina. He was part of projects into drum n bass, jazz, funk or even nu metal.
In 1999 he joined the band Superjudas who came to LA the same year for some shows and after arriving, it didn’t take so long to get known and become part of bands such as The Orphics including Peter Distefano from Porno For Pyros and Charlie Bisharat from Jane’s addiction, or singer/solo artist Preston, whom gigged with every club in California, including Knitting Factory, The Roxy, House of Blues, Whisky a go go, Key Club, and many other places.
In the last years he’s been producing artist into house/nu metal/breakbeats and on these last months he joined English producer Christopher Saint to be a part of the music for the upcoming film, ShadowBox.
The idea of Suspender came after starting going out to clubs in California and finding out that the whole electronic scene is basically ruled by DJs, and as a musician, he decided to start a project to mix the live feel of a band with the sound of electronic music. With the idea of playing in between DJs with the choice of being in control of the music the hole time, playing sequencers, samplers, acoustic percussion, keyboards or even drums live on stage.
